ARCHIVE ANCIENT CAMOGLI

012.               The  LIDO

Year:  1922 (?)

 Photographer: Ferrari's Brothers

NOTES:

The Lido seen from the opposing houses.

Also being still constructed in wood and burlap, the architecture are even adapted for an elitary customer one:  the two pretentious turrets over the entrance, the shadowed hall, the cabins at the sides and the sun terrace towards the sea represented the maximum comfort of the age.

Inside there was also the buvette for the refreshments made up of water with extracted syrup of china, roses, lemonade, soda, gazeuse, liquors, ice creams and ratatuia (mint or lemon ice drink made scouring off an ice block).

Notice the persons on the terrace completely dressed, the ladies in white and the gentlemen in black.

The wall and the Walk railings here portrayed are still the existing ones (the good old cast iron!).
