Fishing boats for the most (to notice the nets hung at the mastings) and some cargo sail ship in the port of Camogli.

For the most profitable fishing two twin boats were used, called trattanuìn (we see two couples of them in the picture) working together in set and dragging under sail a long fishing net keeping each one a head.

In this way there were possible the surrounding and the capture of large banks of anchovies and sardines in the seas of Gorgona Island and off the coast from Tuscany to Lybia and Morocco in order to make supply of fish immediately salted in barrels.

The product were sold in the ports along the coast and the eventual surplus brought back to Camogli for the family winter provision.
