NOTES:

Cargo boats at anchor in the Port of Camogli.

The first one is a so-called "vinacciera" assigned to the transport of the good wine of Elba Island and of the Tuscany, while the second one is a brig-schooner (said in Camogli scuna, even if it does not have nothing to do with the schooner) utilized for the transport of the coal from Sardinia Island.

The three lowered and wrapped sails are visible on the bowsprit (fore topgallant, outer jib, inner jib);  the foremast is supplied of yards for the manoeuver of the square sails while in the mainmast note the boom with the great fore and aft sail (usually topsail and spanker) lowered and wrapped.

Of smaller tonnage as the true brig, the scuna it is a manageable and economic sail ship that obtained a good success between the camogliese shipowners for the traffic in the Mediterranean Sea.
