053.        The  FISH FEAST

Year: 1958

Photographer: B. Ferrari's

NOTES:

Because of the growing success and popular participation (and fish demand) there were necessary a more larger pan: in 1960 a second larger pan was constructed: five meters of diameter and with a seven meters long handle.

Weighting 3500 lbs, able to boil 500 gallons of oil, sending in retirement the previous one, became the world's largest one.

Temporary pension stopped in 1961: the tourists were so much that it had to be used both pans at the same time awaiting the construction of another still larger pan.

In fact later on it were necessary the building of a third pan that, with its six meters of diameter and beyond 6500 lbs of weight, were truly the world’s larger frying pan.

For the Fish Feast of the year 2001 there was realised the fourth frying pan of the series: commissioned to the parmesan Company Botti on plans of the Europlan of Lavagna, the special new frying pan, no more in iron as the previous ones but completely in stainless steel, in compliance with the new rigorous National Health Service rules and Europeans laws.

2600 kg heavy, with a 300 kg handle, the newest pan measures in the diameter only four meters, allowing an easy transport (and hire) to other cities.
