ARCHIVE ANCIENT CAMOGLI

055.       The  OUTER  HARBOR

Year: 1905 approximately

Photographic Archives Ferrari’s Brothers

NOTES:

In the picture the white wharf lantern and the lower green light on the headpier can be noticed, where the guns that the Napoleonic General Masséna in the year 1800 carried to Camogli are set, best employed by the Camogliese seamen as mooring bitts.

On the cliff’s top of the center of the image we note that the building of the Restaurant Rosa still did not exist nor the Sailor’s Rest House: they will be constructed approximately thirty years later.

Where now lies the Sailor’s Rest House we see the wall of the old cemetery, moved 500 meters away in order to give room for the new building, begun around 1925 and finished in 1930.
