ARCHIVE ANCIENT CAMOGLI

056.                    The MOVIE

Year:  1957

Photographer: unknown

NOTES:

Camogli was often the natural scene of many directors for their documentary and their films.

Those with the participation of the famous theatre actor Gilberto Govi were turned nearly all here.

I had one small part as appearance, with my schoolfriends, in the film “The Devil in the Convent”.

In 1957 was the turn of Vittorio De Sica, arrived with his troupe and his actors to shoot the film “Pezzo, Capopezzo & Capitano”.

I remember Vittorio De Sica and Paolo Stoppa, great artists but jokers with the children.

The photo shows a fishing boat disguised as mercantile ship for film requirements that repeated for a whole day the entrance and exit scene from the port burning smoke-producers that poisoned everyone excepting the director, furious because the waves weren’t exactly as he wanted.
